ABOUT THE SHOW

Oklahoma! was the first musical written by the duo of Rodgers and Hammerstein. It is set in farm/cattle country outside the town on Claremore, soon to become the brand new state of
Oklahoma, in 1906.

It is the story of farm girl, Laurey Williams and her courtship by two rival suitors. Curly McClain, a brash and confident cowboy was one with the sinister and frightening farmhand, Jud Fry, the other. There is a comedic romance with Cowboy Will Parker and his flirtatious fiancée, Ado Annie. Other featured characters are the spunky and outspoken Aunt Eller, Ali Hakim, the Persian peddler and a townful of farm and cowboy men and women who are working to create a new life in a brand new state.
